Description: An Alcohol Brief Intervention (ABI) is a short evidence-based, structured conversation about alcohol consumption with a patient/service user. The Scottish Government has set NHS Boards in Scotland the target of cumulatively delivering 149,449 brief interventions on alcohol between April 2008 and March 2011. NHS Health Scotland is working closely with key partners to ensure that an effective programme of support for this work is in place. Below is the EQIA report of the resources used to deliver ABIs.
