Publication

Publication name: Excess mortality in Scotland and Glasgow
Date: 15 May 2016
Description: Mortality rates in Scotland and Glasgow are substantially higher than would be expected for the socioeconomic deprivation levels in the populations. Four reports were commissioned to better understand this ‘excess mortality’, and to inform an overall synthesis report. Three reports sought to understand specific hypotheses: diet, employment and housing; and the other was a systematic review to ensure that all possible hypotheses were identified.
