Evaluation Support
Offering specialist advice and support to Health Scotland’s key customers.
Enabling outcome planning, evaluation and learning for delivering better, more accountable services.
The Evaluation team works with NHS Health Scotland’s key customers so they can assess the impact and contribution of their work to National and Local Outcomes. We provide advice, practical support and access to resources and tools. We take action to build evaluation and learning into improvement, funding and policy-making processes.
There are many approaches to outcomes planning and evaluation. The tools that we commonly use include:
- Results Chains
- Logic modelling
- Results/outcomes planning
- Contribution Analysis
- Performance Stories
From January 2012, the Evaluation Team is working with the Joint Improvement Team (JIT) and other Scottish Government colleagues to enable their use of the ideas, tools and techniques of Contribution Analysis, an outcomes-focused approach to planning, evaluation and performance reporting. The JIT will develop and adapt these tools to apply in the context of the local Health & Social Care Change Fund partnerships. Read the full document.
