Health Scotland's settings-based approach involves promoting health in various settings and ensuring that staff in those settings recognise their important role in improving health and reducing health inequalities.
In this section, you can also find out about our work to support Keep Well, which will see a huge investment to strengthen primary care services in the most deprived areas of Scotland.
Community and Voluntary Sectors: The programme aims to support, promote and influence the crucial health improvement role of the community and voluntary health sectors by working with and through a number of key partners for delivery.
Education Programme: NHS Health Scotland’s Education Programme supports and facilitates health & wellbeing in Scottish schools.
NHS Programme: The NHS programme supports capacity building and systems for health improvement in the NHS setting.
Local Government: The local government programme supports councils and community planning partnerships in their efforts to improve health and tackle health inequalities within their communities.
Anticipatory Care: The national Anticipatory Care Programme includes Keep Well and Well North. Settings-based and population-based approaches have been introduced to support the delivery of Keep Well and Well North.
