Supporting Community Health Partnerships (CHPs)

Community Health Partnerships (CHPs) have a key role to play working with local communities to identify opportunities to improve health and to take action to reduce health inequalities. The CHP Health Improvement Advice Note (external link) provides basic guidance to CHPs in relation to this function.

In March 2006, at the conference ‘Delivering for Health: The Role of the Health Promoting Health Service’ CHPs were identified as a key to the new health improvement agenda. CHPs are uniquely placed to tackle health inequalities and promote good health through existing and new partnerships with local authorities, social services and the private and voluntary sectors. Copies of the Full Report and the Summary are available.
