Up-to-date information on current campaigns to promote positive sexual wellbeing.

In supporting the implementation of national strategies on sexual health and HIV, Respect and Responsibility (external link) and the HIV Action Plan (external link), NHS Health Scotland has developed two specific campaign initiatives:

  • Giving you more choice, a campaign aimed at women aged 18 to 44 years to initially promote knowledge and awareness of longer lasting contraception and in the longer term increase the number of women using this contraception.
  • HIV Wake Up, aimed at men aged 20 to 40, provides resources that highlights issues of HIV transmission among men who have sex with men.

As well as leading on this work, a series of leaflets to inform men and women of sexually transmitted infections support the Scottish Government-led sexual health initiatives(external link).

Information on period pains and premenstrual tension and cystitis has been redeveloped to support wider sexual wellbeing.

For information on these campaigns and resources, please contact Jane Hoeflich, Senior Communications Manager at jane.hoeflich@nhs.net or 0131 536 5500. You can also read a summary of our campaign work.
