Choose Life has taken a lead role in collating, analysing and disseminating information to improve not only what we know about suicide, but also how it can be prevented.

An extensive range of research, reviews and evaluations have been commissioned to strengthen our understanding of suicide and how to prevent it, including:
- an independent evaluation of the second phase (2006-2008) of Choose Life
- effectiveness of interventions to prevent suicide and suicidal behaviour: a systematic review
- a literature review of the risk and protective factors for suicide and suicidal behaviour
- the epidemiology of suicide in Scotland
- evaluation of ASIST suicide prevention training
- evaluation of safeTALK suicide prevention training.
