This section provides information about recommended immunisations for teenagers up to 18 years old.
Teenage Immunisations (ages 13 to 18 years) your questions answered is a leaflet aimed at teenagers. It provides an overview on all the routine immunisations for teenagers to protect them from serious diseases. It answers commonly asked questions about vaccines as well as advice to help you recognise and know what to do about meningitis and septicaemia.
Recommended vaccines for teenagers include:
Td/IPV
When: before leaving school
Protects against: boosts protection against tetanus, diphtheria and polio
The flu (extenal link) and pneumococcal (external link) immunisations are also advised for young people with heart, lung, kidney, liver or other long-term health problems.
