Td/IPV

This section provides information on the Td/IPV vaccine.

The Td/IPV vaccine is usually given between 13 and 18 years of age.

The vaccine completes the five-dose course that provides complete protection against Tetanus, Diphtheria, and Polio (with Inactivated Polio Vaccine).

Td/IPV is a combined vaccine which contains the following active ingredients; purified tetanus toxoid; low dose purified diphtheria toxoid and three strains of inactivated polio virus.

The UK Department of Health’s Immunisations against Infectious Disease (the Green Book) (external link) provides helpful information on all vaccines.

If you want more information on vaccines and immunisations, speak to your doctor, health visitor or nurse or call the NHS Helpline, Freephone on 0800 22 44 88.
