MenC Vaccine
This section provides information on the Men C vaccine which protects against the meningococcal group C bacteria.
The MenC vaccine is usually given to babies at three and four months of age at the same time as they receive the DTaP/IPV/Hib vaccine.
This vaccine protects against meningitis and septicaemia (blood poisoning) caused by 'meningococcal group C' bacteria. The MenC vaccine does not protect against meningitis caused by other bacteria or by viruses.
