Dental support workers

Summary: ABI training is included in our Improving Health Training programme and all staff in the NHS, Fife Council and the Voluntary sector are eligible to attend. There has been a variety of people attending the training and through someone attending this training and making a request, a group of Dental support workers recently received training.
The intention is now to follow up this group to identify what their ABI activity currently is, as an agreed data recording method has not yet been established.
Delivery model: Opportunistic screening and delivery of ABI.
Supporting Factors: Interest of the staff concerned and organisational support for the training.
Challenges: Lack of reporting mechanisms.
