In March 2008, the CEL outlined five priorities for health improvement for Health Boards to deliver. This page provides information to support their implementation.
The CEL for HPHS was released by the Scottish Government on 20th March 2008.
The Scottish Government action plan, Better Health, Better Care (December 2007) (external link) sets out the Government's programme to deliver a healthier Scotland by helping people to sustain and improve their health and includes a Health Promoting Health Service approach.
CASE STUDES
A number of case studies have been developed to demonstrate how previous projects have been carried out and to offer some guidance for implementing the priorities set out in the Chief Executive Letter.
Health Scotland is offering a range of training support to assist with the implementation of the health improvement priorities set out in the CEL. The Learning and Workforce Development Support Plan outlines the current status of the health service with regard to implementing recommendations set out in the CEL for HPHS (2008) with particular reference to learning and workforce development.
