Informing decision making

One of the corporate outcomes in A Fairer, Healthier Scotland is evidence-informed decision-making. EfA staff provide practical advice to support evidence-informed action and decisions in various ways.
This includes contributing to national advisory groups, providing advice and guidance to professional networks, and collaborating with NHS Health Scotland colleagues on the development of outcome frameworks for a number of priority public health areas.

These are some of the main ways in which we contribute effectiveness evidence as one part of the process for evidence-informed decision-making in public health. Visit the decision-making page for more information about this topic.

Visit the outcomes frameworks webpages to access outcome frameworks to which EFA has contributed evidence briefings.

Reports were developed to document and share local health boards´ experiences of implementing the national smoking cessation guidelines and local tobacco profiles were commissioned to enable Boards and CHP or local authority areas to plan, develop and monitor tobacco control and smoking cessation activity

Visit the Healthy Environment Network pages to find out more about this network, coordinated by the EfA team.

We also support decision making by providing modelling support to frame the ways in which place influences health in order to support action on places to improve health and address health inequalities.
