Evaluation of Healthy Living Centres
A Phase 1 evaluation of the Healthy Living Centres Programme in Scotland was conducted over three years (2002-05)
The evaluation was carried out by Edinburgh University's Research Unit in Health, Behaviour and Change (RUHBC) (external link) and the Medical Research Council's Social and Public Health Science Unit (external link).
Findings were published in August 2005.

Examination of long-term development
The time frame for this initial evaluation provided limited scope to examine long-term development, responses to the changing policy environment and issues of sustainability and continuation.
An extension of the study for a further two years (to mid 2007) was therefore agreed and is being funded by the Scottish Executive (external link), the National Programme for Mental Health and Well-being (external link) and Health Scotland. Findings were published in October 2007 and the full report can be found below.
