Anticipatory care community pharmacy programme evaluation

The Anticipatory Care in Community Pharmacies evaluation is complete, and now available . There are also two additional Learning Notes.

The Anticipatory Care programme now includes delivery through community pharmacies in order to:

  • enhance Keep Well and Well North delivery of anticipatory care,
  • support the broader aspirations of Equally Well, and
  • compliment current public health delivery within the community pharmacy setting.

It will further promote levels of user engagement with, and access to, services. Seven health boards are currently engaged in this aspect of the wider anticipatory care programme

An evaluation of this programme was commissioned to examine the following issues:

  • staff development,
  • joint working,
  • progress towards service delivery improvements,
  • increased awareness of the extended community pharmacy role and client choice and access, and
  • delivery of health checks.

The Anticipatory Care in Community Pharmacies evaluation is now available.
