Health Care Needs Assessment for those Experiencing CFS/ME

Project Background

The Scottish Government requested ScotPHN to undertake this needs assessment.

Aim of Project

ScotPHN is currently undertaking a needs assessment of services for patients with CFS/ME. The needs assessment is a national project and aims to incorporate the views of patients and clinicians from across Scotland.

Lead Author

The lead author is Phil Mackie, ScotPHN Lead Consultant and Senior Specialist in Public Health, NHS Lothian.

Project Group

The work of the needs assessment is guided by a project group, chaired by Dr Derek Cox (Director of Public Health, NHS Dumfries and Galloway).

In addition to the lead author and the chair, the membership of this group includes;
• Ann Conacher, ScotPHN Co-ordinator and researcher
• Susan Webster (Project Co-ordinator, Action for ME)
• Josephine Pravinkumar (Consultant in Public Health Medicine, NHS Ayrshire and Arran)
• Rona Dougall (Public Health Resource Unit, NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde)
• Peter Shishodia (GP, Lothian LMC)
