The problem of obesity in Scotland is of huge concern. The combined efforts of researchers, practitioners and policy makers is vital in tackling the obesogenic environment. Many initiatives are already underway by all these groups. It is important that researchers, practitioners and policy makers are aware of each of others work and how their work can contribute to it.
ScotPHN recently hosted a two day event to facilitate exchange of information in this area. The first day focussed on the wide range of research currently being undertaken by Scottish universities, the second day looked at the work being undertaken by NHS Boards, local authorities and other local partner organisations to treat and prevent obesity. On both days there were be presentations on Scottish Government policy and planning related to obesity and healthy weight.
Both events were filmed and can be viewed via a web-cast (external link).
