Starting Well Roadshows
A series of seven linked conferences was organised to discuss lessons learned from Phase 1 and the Transition Phase (2000-2003/4) of Starting Well, and from other Early Years initiatives and services operating across Scotland.
In general, the main purpose of these events was to allow an opportunity for practitioners and policy-makers from health, local authority and voluntary sectors to:
- Hear and discuss the experiences and learning from Starting Well.
- Showcase examples of good practice from local areas.
- Discuss the implications of these for local policy and practice within the new policy context, notably the Integrated Strategy for the Early Years (external link) and Health for All Children (external link).
Roadshow report
The report is divided into chapters, reflecting the events held in each of the Health Board areas. Each chapter starts with a summary of the emergent issues.

Many of the issues discussed in the workshops have been reflected in the development of Parents and Children Together.
