This section is for members of the general public and public health staff who want up-to-date information about immunisation.

NHS Health Scotland works closely with partners such as Health Protection Scotland (external link) and NHS Board Immunisation Coordinators to provide up-to-date resources to support national immunisation programmes.

NHS Health Scotland and our partners are interested to ensure professionals and the general public have access to accurate and appropriate resources to encourage informed consent with regard to immunisation.

Information on the HPV Immunisation Programme has been developed in response to the Scottish Government's announcement that the vaccine which prevents infection with some of the types of the human papillomavirus (HPV) is to be offered to all girls who are under 18 in September 2008.

The Hib Booster Campaign began on 5th November 2007 and will continue until 3rd March 2009. See: Information about Reduced Availability of Pediacel

The UK Department of Health publication Immunisation Against Infectious Disease (the Green Book) (external Link) is the comprehensive guide for all vaccines.
