Community Cohesion
Find out what we mean by community cohesion and how it affects health.
The environment in which a person lives, such as how inclusive and cohesive it is, can greatly impact on their health and wellbeing.
A cohesive and inclusive society creates an environment where people can flourish and participate productively in community life, and fosters good mental health and wellbeing.
NHS bodies can make a significant contribution to make our communities more cohesive across Scotland and by doing this we will also comply with our statutory duty to foster good relations between people from different backgrounds.
This web portal will allow us to share information, knowledge and experiences of how NHS bodies can promote cohesion and foster good relations in our communities.
