Why am I being offered MMR vaccine and not a single rubella vaccine?
Single rubella vaccine is no longer available because manufacturers are concentrating their production on MMR vaccine. This is because MMR vaccine is recognised internationally as the vaccine of choice against measles, mumps and rubella. This change is supported by the expert advisory body, the Joint Committee on Vaccination and Immunisation which advises UK Health Departments on vaccination and immunisation issues.
