Publication name: Evaluation of the development and delivery of the Peer to Peer Education Pilot among People Who Inject Drugs in Scotland
Date: 05 February 2013
Description: The Hepatitis C Peer to Peer Education project among people who inject drugs is a pilot initiative aimed at increasing understanding of hepatitis C risk factors related to injecting behaviour. Informed by international evidence, the project was specifically designed to enhance the levels of engagement with people who inject drugs in order to increase understanding of safer injecting methods and access to testing for the virus to reduce levels of onward transmission of hepatitis C.
This report presents the findings from the evaluation of the pilot, which assesses the development and implementation of the pilot in order to determine the feasibility of a peer education approach in Scotland. The report also provides learning to inform potential expansion or national roll-out.
