Publication name: Evidence into Practice project reports
Date: 20 November 2012
Description: Two Evidence into Practice tobacco/smoking cessation projects were undertaken in 2011-12 to support local use of the national smoking cessation guidelines (http://www.healthscotland.com/documents/4661). These were:

1. Evidence into Practice (Generic) - focusing on the nature of support provision, pharmacotherapies and prescribing, brief interventions and training, with a specific focus on the national pharmacy scheme.

2. Evidence into Practice (Pregnancy) - focusing on the automatic referral procedure and service provision specifically for pregnant women.

The aim of the projects was to support Boards to deliver the guidelines through the identification of implementation barriers, solutions and good practice.

Project findings are available via the reports and poster presentation below and are additionally incorporated into the tobacco evidence briefings (http://www.healthscotland.com/scotlands-health/evidence/effectivenessevidencebriefings.aspx)
