| Publication name: | Research in brief 11: Older women and domestic violence in Scotland: qualitative - quantitative research |
| Description: | Domestic violence is often seen as a problem that affects younger women only. As a consequence, much research on domestic violence focuses on the experiences of women under the age of 50, while a clear picture of older women's experiences of domestic violence, indeed even of the prevalence of domestic violence in their lives, is largely unavailable. This briefing paper is a summary of the research commissioned, on behalf of Health Scotland, to produce a piece of research summarising existing knowledge and gaps in the understanding of this sensitive topic. |
