Physical activity advising in primary health care in Scotland: An overview of knowledge, attitudes and current practice amongst primary health care staff

Description:This is the final report of a study commissioned by NHS Health Scotland of an exploration of the attitudes, beliefs and practice of Scottish primary health care (PHC) staff associated with promoting physical activity (PA) with clients during routine health care consultations during 2004. Primary health care staff, in the context of this study, includes general practitioners (GPs), health visitors (HVs) and practice nurses (PNs). The report presents the background to the study; its aims, and objectives; and methods; the main findings and conclusions.
