Publication name: Consultation paper: Developing Partnerships between Community and Voluntary Sector Organisations and Anticipatory Care
Date: 30 March 2009
Description: NHS Health Scotland will lead and co-ordinate a programme of work in 2009 / 2010 to support the development of partnerships between Community and Voluntary Sector (CVS) organizations and Anticipatory Care (AC) programmes in Scotland. The aim of the partnerships is to enhance the outcomes of Anticipatory Care in reaching and enhancing the health of people within the population target group.

Two key aspects have been identified:
1. Working with community and voluntary organisations and groups to improve the uptake and reach of Anticipatory Care among people from ‘harder to engage’ segments of the community.
2. Developing referral and improving access to the broader range of health and wellbeing services and resources provided by community and voluntary organisations and groups.

It is considered particularly timely to provide support to develop this aspect of Anticipatory Care at this stage, both to support existing projects and to enable newly developing areas to have a ‘flying start’ in this respect.
