Publication name: Childhood flu immunisation in Scotland: resources for health professionals

Description: The resources listed below are aimed at health professionals supporting the National Flu Immunisation Programme.

For GPs:
• Posters aimed at parents of 2–5 year olds for display in your practice
• Reference copies of the leaflets for display in your practice – parents will receive the leaflet as part of their invitation and central letter
• For information purposes only, a sample of the invitation letter that all parents of 2–5 year olds will receive.

The practice nurse folder/pack contains:
• Samples of the poster aimed at parents of 2–5 year olds
• Childhood flu information leaflet for parents of 2–5 year olds who are not yet in school
• For information purposes only, a sample of the invitation letter sent to all parents of 2–5 year olds
• Samples of the preschool flu stickers
• Samples of the post-immunisation advice leaflet for health professionals to use when discussing the immunisation with parents.

Parents should be signposted for more information to the Immunisation Scotland website - www.immunisationscotland.org.uk/childflu where they can watch a film of the flu vaccine being given to children.
