NHS 60th Anniversary

Everyone can join in the celebrations of the NHS 60th anniversary with events taking place across Scotland

NHS Health Scotland is hosting a nationwide Public Health Roadshow to celebrate the 60th Anniversary of the NHS in Scotland.
The Roadshow looks back over the last 60 years of health improvement in Scotland and shows how far we have come. From advances in medicine and technology to the introduction of healthy living campaigns, Scotland has come a long way
since 1948.

The Roadshow will offer something for everyone. Children can try their hand at ‘The Human Fruit Machine’ and play for cool prizes, while adults can indulge in a trip down memory lane by accessing the NHS 60th website at our computer terminal. The Roadshow will also include a fascinating timeline showing health improvement through the years, and everyone can have a look at nostalgic TV health adverts from over the years.

For those looking for a more lasting memento to help remember some of the highs and lows of the last 60 years, a scrapbook-themed booklet entitled ‘Scotland’s Road to Health’ will also be available.
The Roadshow will be visiting each of the 14 regional Health Boards, and kicks off on 14 June, so make sure to check out our route map to find the venue closest to you!
