6.9 The reference group proposed two types of activities which may potentially reduced violence and aggression and harmful behaviour: by increased support; increased ability to express emotional concerns; and psychological health and improved adaptive behaviour:
Person centred planning - an approach to care which places the individual at the centre of care; and
Training staff in mental health literacy, attitudes and values and promoting communication skills
Rationale
The reference group felt that it was plausible that activities may reduce violence and aggression and harmful behaviour through increased support. However, no evidence has been found to date that these activities are effective in reducing violence.
